7 Speed DSG Problems | Mechatronic
 
The 0AM DQ200 DCT mechatronic unit suffers from various faults which cause the driver to experience symptoms like harsh or incorrect gear changes, or even complete loss of drive. This semi-automatic dual clutch gearbox relies on the correct function of the mechatronic to regulate clutch operation as well as gear changing. Faulty DSG mechatronic units can result in damage to the gears and reduced service life of the dual clutch pack.
 
Common TCU symptoms/faults;
 
P178B - Vehicle unable to move.
P174D - Vehicle unable to move.
P1732 - Vehicle unable to move.
P173A - Vehicle unable to move.
P173B - Vehicle unable to move.
P173C - Vehicle unable to move.
P173D - Vehicle unable to move.
P073A - Intermittent error, hard shifting.
P0666/P0660 - Internal temperature sensor.
P1779 - Input shaft 1 speed too high.
P177A - Input shaft 2 speed too high.
P172F - Distance sensor 1 issue.
P1730/P1731 - Distance sensor 2 issue.
P1732 - Distance sensor 3 issue.
P1735 - Clutch distance sensor 1 issue.
P1736 - Clutch distance sensor 2 issue.
P177F - Insufficient voltage for hydraulic pump motor.
P174A - Partial transmission 1 valve 3 error.
P173E - Partial transmission 1 valve 1 error.

Common mechatronic symptoms/faults;
 
Shaking / juddering in 1st gear and when changing into higher gears.
Current gear flashes on dashboard.
Flashing engine management light or PRNDS on dashboard.
Clutch slip or banging on engagement.
Fault code 06293 Function Restriction Due To Pressure Drop
P17BF - Hydraulic pump system overload protection.
06079 - Hydraulic Pump, Play Protection
06300 - Function Restriction, Due To Insufficient Pressure Build Up
Communication Error
